Music in the Drawing Room with KT Sullivan Sun, June 11th

“SPEND THE SUMMER WITH TEN CHIMNEYS”

KT Sullivan will be our first performer in 2023, singing as only she can for Music in the Drawing Room on Sunday, June 11th at 2:30 pm in the Drawing Room of the Main House on the Ten Chimneys historic estate of Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne.

The New Yorker wrote that KT Sullivan is “as vocally, comically, and theatrically assured as contemporary cabaret performers get”.  She has many fond memories of performing in the perfectly intimate Drawing Room at Ten Chimneys and is looking forward to returning with songs by Noël Coward, a dear friend of the Lunts, as well as other favorites by Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, and Richard Rodgers (with Hart and Hammerstein). KT likes to quote Irving Berlin with “Let Me Sing and I’m Happy”.

KT headlined for almost two decades in The Oak Room of The Algonquin Hotel. Besides regular appearances in such New York venues as The Laurie Beechman Theatre and Birdland, she stars annually at The Pheasantry in London, and has been showcased at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Spoleto Festival, Chichester Festival, CLUB RaYé in Paris, The Adelaide Festival in Australia, and was star vocalist on two tours of China with Manhattan Symphonie.  She was twice named one of the Top 100 Irish Americans by Irish America Magazine.

KT starred with Steve Ross in The Irish Rep’s virtual presentation of “Love, Noël” after a sold-out run in the summer of 2019. She has been the Artistic Director of The Mabel Mercer Foundation since 2012. She starred on Broadway in Camelot, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, as well as Three Penny Opera (with Sting), and Broadway.  Off-Broadway, she has been in Annie Get Your Gun and American Rhapsody (with Mark Nadler) among others.  On television she appeared in Police Squad, Remington Steel, and Night Court.  One of the shows she created, " Rhyme, Women, and Song ", and her award-winning Sondheim Montag with Jeff Harnar, have been shown on PBS, along with A Performance at the White House, performing for President Reagan.

Please call 262-968-4110 for reservations.  Space is very limited for this special event.  The cost is $100 per person for Music in the Drawing Room (start time 2:30 pm) only OR $125 for Music in the Drawing Room plus a tour of Ten Chimneys (the tour will start at 2 pm and continue after Music in the Drawing Room concludes).
