Former Captain and Sommelier at the French Laundry, Ruben Moreno will lead guests through a decadent wine experience at Ten Chimneys.
After having been a Captain and Sommelier at the French Laundry for 7 years Ruben Moreno was ready to strike out on his own. He saved for a year and decided to travel as far he could and for as long as his savings would last. For 7 months, he explored the world of wine. He hiked mountains, drove beneath cliffs, and walked through vineyards overlooking the Alps. He did this all to share his discoveries with wine lovers and enthusiasts, so that they can access amazing wines. Ruben will share his journey and commitment to finding the best wines. During this visit, he will highlight the award-winning wines of Napa Valley’s Heitz Cellar, including the renowned Heitz Cellar Martha’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon which has dominated the field. Fifty-eight years of the Heitz family’s dedication to viticulture, stewardship, and classic winemaking maintained the winery’s notoriety as a benchmark among its peers in California and Europe. In 2018, a new chapter began with this legacy passing into the hands of the Lawrence family.
