TUESDAY, JUNE 26, 2018 | 11 AM | Ten Chimneys Presents - The Fashions of Lynn Fontanne and Influences of the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s Fashions on Today’s Styles
Ten Chimneys Foundation will present a fashion show and lunch at Ten Chimneys, in conjunction with Von Maur and Mount Mary University. Lunch will be provided by Michael’s House of Prime.
As quoted from Maurice Zolotow’s book on the Lunts, Stagestruck – “Clothes, the best designed and best made, were part of the ‘aesthetic matter.’ [Lynn] has been gowned by the best ones – Worth, Chanel, Vionnet, Molyneux, Valentina and Dior, Balenciaga, Lanvin-Castillo. And she uses hats for stress and punctuation and dramatic shadings of her appearance. Clothes are not merely objects to be put on and off, to be worn for a special occasion or to express the mood of an hour. They become a part of her body.”
We will showcase the garments of Lynn Fontanne from the collections of Mount Mary and Ten Chimneys in a rare opportunity to see Lynn’s gowns – an experience that cannot be duplicated elsewhere other than on the estate of Lynn Fontanne and Alfred Lunt.
Fashions of today will be provided by Von Maur. Join us for an exciting afternoon of style, grace and high fashion. Welcome to the House of Fontanne!
Tickets for the fashion show and lunch will be $60 per person. Please ring (262) 968-4110 to reserve your seat or to learn more.
