Ten Chimneys Foundation Seeks Volunteer Docents

Ten Chimneys Foundation is offering new training courses for docents in an effort to grow our volunteer base. All docents complete an in-depth, 14-week training course to prepare them to lead the two-hour tour of Ten Chimneys. This year, the class training will begin in mid-February (specific dates will be announced shortly).

The docent training course includes a historic study of the Lunts and their era, an in-depth exploration of the decorative arts found at Ten Chimneys, and a focus on the core values for which the Lunts were best remembered. Those who successfully complete the training will join a remarkable corps of volunteers and make a commitment to Ten Chimneys. Active docents are invited to attend volunteer meetings held 4 times per year, participate in continuing education sessions, and gather for a much-anticipated picnic held on the estate grounds at the peak of summer.

Our volunteers are the heart of our organization. If you would like to be part of this dynamic group of individuals, please contact Erika Laabs, Preservation/Volunteer Manager, at (262) 968-4161 ext. 204 to learn more or to register for training.

What is Ten Chimneys?

Ten Chimneys, the estate lovingly created by theatre legends Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne, is open to the public as a world-class house museum with a progressive mission to serve the arts.
