Join us for an intimate evening during which Mr. Epps will share fascinating stories about his life in the theatre. As a television director, Mr. Epps has helmed episodes of hit shows such as Frasier and Girlfriends, as well as Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, and many others. Pictured above is Mr. Epps with David Hyde Pierce, our 2014 Lunt-Fontanne Fellowship Program Master Teacher, during the filming of Frasier, which Sheldon directed.
He is currently Artistic Director of the renowned Pasadena Playhouse. Prior to his tenure at The Playhouse, he conceived and directed the musical, Play On!, which received three Tony Award nominations and was produced at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, where it received four Joseph Jefferson Awards, including Best Musical. He also conceived and directed the highly acclaimed musical revue, Blues in the Night. The Broadway production was nominated for a Tony Award as Best Musical of the Year, and the London production, which he also directed, was nominated for two Laurence Olivier Awards. He has directed both plays and musicals at many of our country's major theatres including the Roundabout, Manhattan Theatre Club, the Guthrie, Playwrights Horizons, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Arena Stage, and the Goodman Theatre.
